No locals, only tourist in this very impersonal restaurant. Staff come and tell you to leave after an hour. But it is cheap, and the sushi are very basic but not bad. The only good point of this restaurant is it's location. But there are better sushi restaurants in the same price range.

Best sushi restaurant ever. Cheap as hell and the service is decent enough

This is a staple of ours when visiting Tokyo. Very easy to get in and order in English. Generally very cheap, especially compared to sushi in the US. If you've never done made to order sushi before you have to try this place!

A must visit destination when in Japan. Fun ordering system with decent enough food and prices. Service isn't great but doesn't need to be when it's all done via tablets anyway.

My favorite sushi restaurant in all of Tokyo. Sushi gets to you in under 2 minutes. Prices are incredibly low and quality of fish is excellent! Service is great, server gets to you almost instantly. Overall a great experience!

Quality, affordable sushi in a unique experience. Order from a touch screen and the sushi arrives right in front of you shortly thereafter! Delicious, fast and efficient experience, would definitely recommend. Only issue was navigating the menu properly, we missed some of the rolls that were on the seasonal menu, but we didn't look at it carefully enough.

I can only compare Genki Sushi to what I've had in the UK so bare that in mind when taking onboard what I've said. That disclaimer out of the way - I enjoyed the food at Genki Sushi. The hamburger Sushi was a novelty I've not seen before and was nice! The use of "trains" to deliver the food was a fun addition and I found that food arrived fairly quickly in comparison to some places in the UK. The prices seemed quite reasonable - certainly no worse than other restaurants in Tokyo. It was busy but not super packed when I ate there. I'm told that at 5pm onwards it can get very busy so time is limited in there - if going during this period, I imagine it'd be a good idea to know what you want to eat before sitting down.

Order from an iPad and automated delivery to your table. Standard of food was decent without being great but nice spot for a quick and easy meal. Tables were limited to 45 minutes per visit which could be restrictive.

Cheap , affordable , fast and fantastic. What can I say about this place? The sushi was amazing especially the cheese hamburger sushi. If you're looking for a cheap sushi, this place is definitely the one.

I really liked the food ordering and delivery process here. You input your order on a tablet and the dishes are sent to you on a magnetic rail. This is essentially a better version of the conveyor belt sushi since everything is made fresh when you order it, but with the convenience of a conveyor belt sushi system. The selection was good and the prices were also fair

Nice sushi restaurant with really good sushi, Express delivery with trains and order via tablets. However some "normal sushis" weren't on the menu and the time allowed to stay in the restaurant is only 45 minutes...

It's the fast food version of sushi. Novelty sushi. Not sure that the quality is A1, but the price is reasonable and we didn't get sick from it - so that's a good thing. Go give it a go!

Tried this when I visited japan in August. It was delicious! Lots of variety, and everything was fresh. Service was quick. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Can’t wait to go back and eat here again.

Affordable sushi train shop. Highly recommend if you're on a budget and like salmon. Use the iPad to choose your items then place your order.

Best sushi in shibuya! They make it all fresh which is the best part. You order on an iPad which has an English menu and it’s all so cheap (130YEN per plate!!). I highly recommend, we came here twice during our stay in Tokyo.

Cool order system! Just tap away at a screen and your order gets delivered to your seat. The sushi is nothing to write home about. Don’t get attached to the menu photos...what you see is only kind of what you get 😝Price per plate is cheap (maybe 150-250 Y), so you can fill up. If you’re in Japan for a limited time, there are many other good conveyor belt sushi places that care about taste and presentation. I’d skip this place. Didn’t even bother to snap photos of my food and that says something.

Its likely there will be a queue but its worth the wait (if in a group you will get seated quicker if your willing to split up), once inside the food arrives quick. A tablet is used to order which you can change to English and is used for each seat which is perfect if traveling in a group. Lots of variety, affordable, something for everyone even those that don't/cant eat raw fish.

Fun and yum.The novelty of ordering your sushi from your touchscreen and watching it arrive via conveyor belt is great fun. But actually eating the glorious morsels of sushi that are delivered is the real treat. Yes, join the queue. It's worth it!

Pretty standard conveyor belt sushi. If this were in America the sushi would probably be some of the best I've ever had, but there are better options in Tokyo. However it is conveniently located and the sushi isn't bad for the price, so worth a stop if you're nearby and desperate for some sushi and minimal interaction with others.

From a tourist perspective, it's a must if you visit Tokyo. Sushi quality is good enough, with great variety and a good price. But the main attraction is ordering them with a tablet and getting them delivered through some mini-trains. It's futuristic and lots of fun. There's usually a queue, but it advances fast (I waited for no more than 20 minutes or so both times I went). Don't forget to write your name at the entrance when you arrive.

Mix of locals and tourists in this fun and excellent value sushi conveyor belt place where you order each plate using the tablet (like iPad) at each seat. Then the sushi comes zooming to you when ready. Great concept, varied menu (even has cheesecake and chips for example!) and friendly staff. A must do whenever we come to Tokyo

We put our name on the list and only waited 10minutes. I felt there was not enough options. Sushi options were seafood or vegetarian. The sushi tasted good. It was good to have a picture and the English version. After experiencing this once I wouldn't go back.

very good sushi and the novelty factor makes this a must do. enter the restaurant a staff member will give you a table number and you go to the matching screen.Note the screen is in Japanese as you would expect. there is a picture menu on the wall which if you use the google translate app will give you a better idea of what it is. there are pictures of all the food items. If sushi isn't your thing you can still get chicken, beef, and chips too.select a few items and it will tot up a sub total. drinks are ordered using the monitor but a staff member will bring these over. within minutes your dish will fly over to you on the conveyor belt.you take your dish and send the conveyor back.Eat and repeat :) once you are finished you close off the monitor and return back to the counter at the entrance to pay the final bill.hopefully these steps will make it easier but it is a very intuitive process all the same. Enjoy

Perfect example of efficient Japanese automation. A fun and pleasant experience where the sushi arrives on a timely manner on a "train track" and you make all of your orders on an IPad.

I lived this place so much that I went twice during my vacation. The sushi is delicious and reasonably priced. Because there is a time limit for seating, you are seated very quickly. For those American travelers, please note that the wasabi is extremely spicy. I loved it and I miss it back in the United States. I also miss the green tea.

Cheap, fast, tasty, intertaining place to try sushi in Tokyo. Very fast ordering, fresh ingredients, tasty sake and smiling staff - all is great. But please be aware that during some "high attendance" days Genki Sushi will only give you 45 minutes for the meal.

Very impressive modern sushi train restaurant! It is actually no longer a conveyor but it is made to order and deliver right in front of you in a few moment. Awesome! Less food waste indeed! It is fresh sushi and great experience eating there. I will definitely go back there whenever I have chance to visit Tokyo again. Plus, I recommend all of you to try!!!

A super fun and authentic Asian experience of the conveer sushi. You order the dish via a tablet attached to the table and its delivered to you fresh and quick via a special "railroad" for dishes. So much fun for a tourist like me! Beware that the menus are in Japanese, so it is quite helpful to go there with a person who can read at least some of this language.

My first stop everytime I land in Japan - good CHEAP sushi that has the same consistency no matter what time of day you go. Be prepared to wait a bit during normal dinner times as it is in the main tourist area, however, if you are living close by - go a bit later as you can avoid the whole queue.

I expected a sushi train but what I discovered was slightly more amusing. So first of is the food, I was told it was for the gimmick but honestly it was just a great place to stop by for a very hungry me who had not eaten in 24 hours. The food was better than I expected and was actually quite good, it's no top tier but that is entirely not the point. It's good food for what were oddly cheap prices. The main thing you'll probably have heard about or maybe you haven't is the fact that it's not a conveyor belt sushi train as I was told. But rather you make an order on the tablet at your desk and the food just, arrives in front of you on a miniature bullet train.I mean that's all there is to say about it, if you've been then no idea why you're reading this review. If you haven't then it's a must stop by.Don't forget to send the train away after you've been delivered your meal!

First - go inside the put your name on the list. Don't wait in line.Second - fish quality is meh, selection is big, experience is interestingI wouldn't go here for sushi, but I would check it out for experience since it's pretty unique and interesting. You get seated, order from a tablet, and the order gets sent to you (unless it's something big/specially made). There's a time limit, but it's not unreasonable.Again - I would go for the experience, but would not go there for the sushi if that's what I'm craving.

We came here following a recommendation - it is brilliant. You order your food from a tablet, then a delicious sushi and other types of food come to you on a automated trolley. A fab experience. Really good value. A must! Top tip come just before or just after lunch or dinner - this place can get very popular :-)

This was delicious! Lots of variety, and all fresh, quick service, because you only get a 45 minute seating and you have to be done. There is almost always a queue, put your name on the list, it moves quickly. Really good, and we ate a lot, it cost less than half of what we would spend at any other sushi train! And we all enjoyed our meal.

Easy, fun to order sushi from an I Pad and delivered on a conveyor to your seating. Don't expect the quality to be on par with the other specialised sushi places around Tokyo. This is a fast, fun and budget sushi place with good enough quality based on its prices. Worth a visit for the experience,

This our go-to place for sushi when we visit Shibuya. The sushi is always delicious, and the way in which you order it on a tablet and it is delivered by a tray on a little train is both fun and efficient. It's cheap too, I ordered everything I wanted and my bill came to less than 2000 Yen! Be aware it can get quite busy and you may have to queue, but they run a list to keep things moving quickly. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Shibuya.

Very easy to order food via the tablet on your table, it also has an option for English.Food arrives fast, and is fresh. I've certainly had better sushi, but it still very tasty. In terms of convenience for English speakers I didn't have a better experience in Tokyo. Highly recommended

It is a good sushi place for the novelty factor and the selection, price and portion sizes are great. I love to eat alone, and there is always a seat for singles there. When you arrive, you must go indoors and pick up the sign in paper to write your name down with the number of people you wish to eat with. The queues outside often are many foreigners who haven't written their names down trying to get in. The quality is inconsistent, but for the price nobody should be allowed to complain. I am a ravenous eater (like a grown man haha) and can be full for 1500 yen, which is impressive from sushi alone.

Typical conveyor belt sushi in Japan, except there's no food traveling around wastefully until it gets scooped up, everything is made fresh to order. If you're in the Shibuya area, highly recommended and very reasonably priced.
